Support to AMIA & Professionnal Trainings (USA)

AMIA Conference

Since 2007, the Technicolor Foundation as a gold sponsor supports the annual conference of AMIA (Association of Moving Image Archivists), the world’s biggest gathering of moving image archivists of the world. During the conference, workshops, seminars, archival screenings or special events are set up for and with professionals from the film archive field in order to exchange practical information and experiences related to film preservation.

On November 2008, the
Technicolor Foundation was particularly present for a panel of discussion, “Reports from the Field: The Bophana Project”.

Professional trainings in the field of film heritage

Besides, the Technicolor Foundation supports the professional training in moving image archiving through:
     - the Sid Solow Scholarship which
is sent to the student’s educational institution and credited toward tuition and/or registration fees. In addition, each recipient receives complimentary registration to the conference.
     - the Technicolor Foundation-Technicolor Fellowship which is awarded to an outstanding student from the L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation. This fellowship allows him/her to do 1-month practical internship at Technicolor North Hollywood, Film Preservation Department.
     - the Kodak Fellowship which is awarded each year to a student of merit who intends to pursue a career in the field of moving image archiving.

The Kodak Fellowship and the Sid Solow Scholarship are awarded during the Awards & Scholars Luncheon of the AMIA Conference.

The next
AMIA Conference will be held in Saint-Louis (USA) in November 4th-7th, 2009.
