Choosing a title that had been very popular in Turkey in the 1970's was a most interesting experience, all the more so because the Groupama Gan Foundation had already restored in the 2 previous years Bereketli Topraklar Üzerinde (1979) by Erden Kiral and Vurun Kapeye / Strike the Whore (1949) by Lufti O.Akad.
Time had damaged parts of the original of The Girl with Red Scarf and eventually it was no longer visible. The restoration project undertaken in 2010 combined a photochemical process and digital tools for the restoration of images.
As for the sound, the restoration could not solve all the damage caused by the time nor the imperfections of the original recording. It was decided not to create a new sound track but to remove and restore the faulty sections.
