French Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a strong policy of supporting cultural diversity. In the audiovisual field, the main aim of this policy of cooperation is to structure cinema in countries in the South, in particular in sub-Saharan Africa, but also to save the cultural heritage of these countries. The aim of the Plan Images Archives, which has a budget of 2 million euros for 3 years, is to protect the audiovisual cultural heritage of the Priority Solidarity Zone (PSZ). Primarily, it aims to preserve and digitalize the best cinema, televisual, radiophonic and photographic examples of cultural heritage in the PSZ; it also seeks to exhibit centres for the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage.
